Why Buy Blank Patches from EnMart?

If you do a Google search for blank patches you’ll find 2,150,000 results. Even if you allow that some of those results will come from the same site, that’s still a lot of potential places from which you could purchase blank patches. We realize that EnMart is one of many potential suppliers, but we also know that choosing EnMart is a wise decision. Today I wanted to explain a bit about why we think buying your blank patches from EnMart is a wise move.

First, let’s talk about construction. EnMart blank patches are made of 100% polyester, not a blend. They’re also designed to meet the standards of industrial laundries, which can have very harsh wash and dry cycles. Our blank patches have to stand up to far more rigorous standards than would every occur in most home washing and drying cycles and they have to do it repeatedly. These patches are made to last, and look good, for the long haul.

Second, these patches have been tested. Recently an independent third party ran a wash test using EnMart blanks sewn with Iris thread. Our blanks didn’t crumple under pressure and our thread didn’t run. Ensign Emblem, our parent company, has been manufacturing these blank patches for 35 years and they’ve been tested many times. We know they’re tough because we’ve seen them endure tough conditions.

Third, we offer a wide variety of colors and sizes. Some companies that sell blanks offer white fabric only, or have a limited number of sizes. When you buy EnMart blanks, you can either purchase blanks in standard colors, which are comprised of white polyester fabric and specific border colors, or you can purchase blanks in custom colors, which encompasses a much wider range of border and fabric colors. Monday Miscellany

I have a few random items of business I wanted to clear up today, so I thought it would be useful to do a round up post. That way we can clear up all the miscellaneous items at one time and move on to other things for the rest of the week.

ISS Long Beach – Thank you to everyone who visited our booth at ISS Long Beach. From what I’ve heard, we had a terrific show and got to see a lot of people. I’m so pleased and proud that there is such interest in EnMart and I appreciate everyone who took the time to stop by and say hello to our staff in California.

Stitches Webinar on Social Media – Last Thursday I was a panelist for a webinar presented by Stitches Magazine. The topic was social media. We covered blogging, Twitter, Facebook, press releases and social media dos and don’ts. If you didn’t get a chance to attend the webinar, you can view it on the Stitches website.

Come See Us at ISS Long Beach

As I write this, our trade show team is en route to Long Beach for our third consecutive ISS show.   We’re really excited to be going back to California and about having the opportunity to connect with all our customers on the West Coast.   EnMart also has a really good team on the ground in California this year.  They are very knowledgeable and will be able to assist you with any questions you might have.

2010 is the first year that we will be showcasing sublimation and ChromaBlast as well as Iris thread and other embroidery supplies in our booth.  EnMart has gone all out this year.  We’ve designed a new booth which, if I may say so myself, is awesome.  It showcases all the products we offer, gives ample space for demonstrations, and provides room for samples and plenty of literature.   As an added bonus, it looks really cool as well.

EnMart NewsBites 1/18/10

It’s been a while since EnMart NewsBites has been seen and today seemed a good day to bring it back, since we have some miscellaneous announcements to make.  Those of you who remember the NewsBites e-mails probably remember that they were small snippets of information and advice.  The NewsBites posts will take the same format.  These posts will be a place where we can provide small bits of information and tips or hints that will either inform you about EnMart or help you in your own business life.   NewsBites will appear roughly every two weeks.   Here are this week’s NewsBites.

Introducing SubliStuff, the Blog – EnMart has created a sister blog for EnMart EmbroideryTalk.  The new blog is called SubliStuff, and will feature articles about sublimation, guest posts from sublimation and ChromaBlast experts, and eventually sublimation videos.   If you have questions about sublimation, please leave them in the comment section of the blog and we will be happy to answer them.

Do you have…? – We get questions all the time about adding something to our product inventory.   Here is how that process works.  If you have a product you would like us to add to our inventory, contact us, provide information about the item, including SKU and where you currently purchase it, and let us know how big your first order would be.   Once we have that information, we will determine a price and give you a quote on the item.  Before we stock the item, we must have your first order for it.  Your first shipment may be a little delayed while we stock up, but subsequent shipments will be shipped with the usual EnMart efficiency.

EnMart Website Upgraded –  The EnMart website has had some tweaks made to the structure and function.  The changes should make it easier to find items you want to purchase, and should make the site run faster.  While the final changes are in progress, we ask that you pardon our dust, and please let us know if you find anything that isn’t working properly.

Five Tips for Managing Your To Do List

This is a very busy time for us here at EnMart.  We’re gearing up for the 2010 trade show season.  EnMart is working to open a fourth warehouse in Georgia.  Research is being done on new products we plan to add to our web site.  We’re considering ideas for contests.  The blog and web site and being edited and updated.  The to do list of wants and needs and tasks is running into a second volume, which is a good, but occasionally overwhelming, thing.

Because of the time of year, and the nature of running a business, I have to guess that we’re not the only company that is facing a long list of things to be done.   Given that fact, I thought it might be a good idea to write a post sharing the top five ways we keep our long to do list from being overwhelming.  My hope is that you will also share some of your tips for time management in the comments so that, when we’re done, we’ll have a great list of ideas that might be of help to those people who are feeling a little overwhelmed right now.

Tip # 1:  Actually make a list – Some people don’t like writing down their tasks simply because seeing the list on paper seems so overwhelming.   Even if seeing the entire list in print does make your day seem filled to the brim, writing things down helps make sure you won’t forget anything important.  Plus, studies have shown that being able to cross a task off the list will give you a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction which could help propel toward finishing the next task.

Tip #2:  Determine ROI – When deciding the level of importance of each task, figure out what the return on investment (ROI) or payoff will be.  Say, for instance, you’re trying to decide between attending a local Chamber of Commerce meeting and reducing your to be filed pile.  Keeping your files in order is a good thing to do, but that’s something which could be done anytime.  The local Chamber of Commerce meeting only happens at a specific time and it has the potential to bring more customers to your business.  The meeting clearly has a better ROI and is worth spending your time.

Tip #3 – If you can, delegate – I recognize that not every small business owner has someone to whom they can delegate, but even family and friends who aren’t directly connected to the business can be asked for help when time is short.   Make a separate lists of tasks that need to be done but which don’t have to be done by any specific person and delegate those tasks.

Tip #4 – Schedule time to organize your list –  Take a half an hour every morning or evening to review and revise your list.  Keep a calendar so you have a reminder of upcoming deadlines.   As things pop up on the deadline list, they can be added to the master list.  Reserving this time helps to ensure that your list will always be up to date, and that you will be concentrating on the most urgent and immediate tasks.

Tips #5 – Give Yourself a Break – A list is a guideline for what needs to be done, but it shouldn’t become an imperiative.   Don’t expect to cross every item off the list every day.  Learn to accept the fact that some less important or less time sensitive tasks might be on the list for months.   Count any day where you can cross a few items off the list as a day where you got something accomplished and be proud of that fact.

What to Expect in 2010

istock_000011322561small1Happy New Year to all of you. I know this New Year’s greeting is a few days late, but it’s no less sincere because of its tardiness. I hope 2010 is a prosperous, positive year for everyone who reads this blog. I know 2010 will be a great year for EnMart.

Since this is our first day back in the office since the New Year began, I thought it would be a good time to outline a few of the things we plan to do in 2010. One of the things we want to do is add more educational content to the website and the blog. We’re planning to start a YouTube channel and create some educational and instructional videos. Our broad topic areas will, of course, include sublimation and embroidery. Keep an eye out for our announcement about YouTube. You should see that sometime in the late Spring, early Summer.

We will also be opening our fourth location in 2010. Currently we have EnMart Corporate in Michigan, EnMart East in New Jersey and EnMart West in Nevada. In 2010, most likely in February, we will also be opening EnMart South in Georgia. This will give us four locations convenient for one day Ground shipping to almost everywhere in the United States.

I will also be bringing back some of the old standards to this blog. I want to create “What’s the Answer Wednesday” posts on a more regular basis, since I think those posts are a great way to answer reader and customer questions. The EnMart NewsBites posts will have their inaugural run on the blog this month, and will appear thereafter in the second and fourth weeks of the month. I also want to continue the Website Workshop series, as I know more and more of our customers are or will be building websites.

EnMart will, of course, be adding new products throughout the course of the year. As always, we are open to suggestions about products we should carry. If you are searching for a particular product and have not had success with finding it, please let us know. EnMart has extensive connections and we often have success at locating hard to find products. We are also willing and eager to put our connections to work for our customers.

Finally, I made one New Year’s Resolution this year when it comes to this blog, and it is this, I will update on a more regular basis. My workday is always busy but updating this blog and posting on a regular basis is important. I hope you enjoy reading these posts as much as I enjoy writing them, and I think we could both benefit from a more regular posting schedule.
